About Melissa “Magic Mel” Wolfson
From childhood magic shops in Connecticut to Hollywood’s historic Magic Castle.
Melissa Wolfson, known as Magic Mel, discovered magic as a child in Connecticut. Her grandfather introduced her to magic shops, and her father brought her along on trips to Las Vegas and the Magic Castle.
Years later, after raising her sons, she returned to the art and earned membership at the historic Magic Castle in Hollywood — one of the most respected private magic clubs in the world. She apprenticed under the late David Thorsen and later served as his assistant. Melissa specializes in close-up magic with cards and coins.
She has performed for notable figures including Daryl Hall, Tommy Lasorda, and Cheap Trick’s Rick Nielsen.
She is also involved with the Women’s Magician Association and has connections to The Magic Circle in London.
With a background in child development and education, Melissa is especially skilled at teaching magic to children and adults. She regularly works with students and families in Westlake Village, Agoura Hills, and Calabasas, and has participated in community programs such as Westlake Village Reads.
